As you may know, this weekend would not work if it were not for the homes for the students to stay in over Friday and Saturday night. We want to offer you the opportunity to be a host home, and provide a place for 10-15 Jr. High students to experience a great weekend in their small group. But there is no need to worry about leading the groups; you can be involved as little or as much as you want. We will have leaders for each group in each home. We are also offering incentives for Parents that offer their homes for the weekend; your student attends the weekend free! If you think this is something you would like to do, please give us a call or shoot us an email.
... and as always, if you talk to a parent that does not know about this blog, please send them the address so that they can stay informed too!

Welcome!
Welcome to the official blog for Plug In 2008! We know you may have some questions about his year's events and so this blog is to serve as a hub of information for Plug In.
Two years ago, AMPED started conducting a yearly discipleship event that was centered around the idea behind DNOW. In fact, we called it just that; DNOW. After our 2007 event, we decided to make this event our own and to create an atmosphere that is completely "Gateway", so we created the name "Plug In", with the main thought that this weekend is an opportunity for Jr. High Students to plug in to what God has for them in the areas of Bible study, prayer, and worship. We love that this event is at the beginning of the year because we like the idea that the students can start the new year off with the right perspective and priorities.
What happens at Plug In?
The weekend kicks off on Friday night, January 25, at the NRH campus. Dinner is not provided Friday night for the students, so they will need to eat before they come. When you drop your student off, you will have the opportunity to check them in starting at 6:00 PM, and then the Plug In Rally starts at 7:30 PM. After the rally the students are taken to their host homes and will spend the night there with two adult leaders and 10-14 other students. They will have small groups each night in the host home.
Saturday morning in the host home is another small group session and then back at NRH for lunch. After lunch we will have worship and a word from Kam and Keith. then we will have games, tournaments, and an obstacle course set up at the NRH campus. then we will bus the kids off site for dinner, and then a special group activity off site. the students then return to NRH campus at 8:30PM and we will have a late night service starting at 9:00PM with a special speaker from out of town. After service, they leave for the host homes and end with one last small group session before lights out.
Sunday morning the students will be taken back to the NRH campus where we will all attend the 10:45 AM service and the parents can then pick up their students immediately after the service.
